Exponential Growth

The National Film Board (NFB) has been a huge supporter of digital media in Canada for quite some time. In honour of David Suzuki’s 75th birthday, and the release of the Force of Nature documentary, this interactive piece was developed. David Suzuki uses bacteria and food in a test tube as an analogy to illustrate where the human race is headed if it holds on to the notion that unbridled growth is always the way to go.

Given the fact that the demise of the bacteria occurs in 59 seconds, the site asks what you would do if you had an extra minute. Sobering but nicely executed.
